"Tŷ Cwtch is a registered children’s home in Cardiff, providing care and support to young people aged up to 19 years with a range of complex needs, physical disabilities, severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties, and other conditions. Tŷ Cwtch is based in idyllic surroundings with over 50 acres to explore and we have our own adapted transport to access activities in the community. We offer tailored packages, which can include 24-hour nursing care and/or combined residential and education placements with our school, Craig-y-Parc. Each young person is encouraged and supported to find out what they enjoy. These activities are fundamental to our work in supporting them to develop their identity and self-esteem. We make sure the young people we support get the most from every experience and find the best ways to improve their physical, cognitive and communication skills. This can be through one to one support or the benefit a specialist team. Our team have training and experience in dysphagia, epilepsy, mental health needs, cerebral palsy, autism, and learning disabilities. We have our own nursing team and staff trained in paediatric first aid and safe administration of medications. Staff also have training in specific conditions and procedures to ensure that we offer the best quality care and support specific to individual needs."
